The
Ford Anglia 105E and Ford Prefect 107E History
| Of
all the new cars launched in the year 1959,
perhaps just two stand out in peoples' minds as
being personal favourites, the Mini and the Ford Anglia 105E. Both cars were great steps forward
for their respective manufacturers and scored
great successes on both the British and
Continental markets. That's where most of the
similarities end however, for both cars were
aimed at different segments of the market to
attract different types of buyers. The Ford Anglia 105E was available from 1959 to 1967. A
lot of mechanical changes took place over those
eight years, but very few cosmetic changes. The
biggest changes though were with society. There
was more disposable income, and more people were
buying their first new cars.
This page gives you a quick eight year history of
the Ford Anglia 105E

Ford
Anglia Timeline - 1967
| In
1967 the Anglia range consisted of the Standard, Deluxe, Super, Van and Estate, with Martin Walter Ltd producing a
Pick Up. But in November Ford called a halt
to the production of the Anglia vehicle and
called time on the Anglia name, to make way for its all new Escort
Model.
|

1968 and Beyond
| You
could still purchase an Anglia beyond the end of
Production in 1967, as dealers were keen to move
on their stocks of Anglia's in favour of the New
Escort. There are numerous Anglia's that were
registered in 1968 (and a few rare ones in 1969). As we all know though, the
end of production did not signify the end of the
Anglia's legacy.
